Environmental Law

The environment is a phenomenon not yet understood by us completely since it is a predicament that requires a collectivist solution in an individualist world. It is a challenge that humanity faces and has consistently fallen short of doing what is required. Under the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act 1997, the term environment is defined to mean air, water, land, and layers of the atmosphere; living organisms and inorganic matter; the ecosystem and ecological relationships; buildings, structures, roads, facilities, and works; social and economic conditions affecting community life; and the interrelationship between these elements. Environmental law in Pakistan includes the management of biological and other natural resources as well as the control of pollution and hazardous materials.
